How'd you translate "contribute to life's rich tapestry"?

Comrades of mine in India took to enjoying curry for breakfast but, as we say in the North Country, ‘There’s
nowt so queer as folk.’ That wasn’t for me, but I don’t see any reason why breakfast shouldn’t contribute to life’s rich
tapestry. Thanks, in part, to my nourishing start to the day, I’ve remained the same weight all my life, which has served me
well.
