From a testing report on the resistance to loads of roadside barriers.
As I understand it, this is the "original" value, i.e. the absence of deflection before any load is applied, and is given as 0 mm.
I was wondering the technical term for this value.

In mathematics, the origin of a Euclidean space is a special point, usually denoted by the letter O, used as a fixed point of reference for the geometry of the surrounding space.
In physical problems, the choice of origin is often arbitrary, meaning any choice of origin will ultimately give the same answer. This allows one to pick an origin point that makes the mathematics as simple as possible, often by taking advantage of some kind of geometric symmetry.

The most common system for locating points on the earth is with "Longitudes" and "Latitudes". Both longitude and latitude are angles measured with the center of the earth as an origin.
