Can any sailing experts tell me what this is please? Google Translate's telling me it's a bowsprit, but I can't get confirmation of this from anywhere it from Googling it it appears to be something entirely different but no idea what to call it!
Not a lot of context to give other than that it's listed as part of the elements of "un pur course croisière", notably those "de la course": "la baille à bouts, tout près de la descent".

Thanks Florence. I've just done a Google search on that and after trying a few alternatives, 'halyard storage bag' seems to get the most hits and to most resemble 'baille à bouts', so I think I'll go for that, at least for now. |
