I've almost finished a 5k job and I've had "färg" hundreds of times for marking of tall objects to warn aircraft. Now suddenly, right at the end, just to make it hard for me, I have:
Färgsystemet av typ RAL (Reichausschuss für Lieferbedingungen) I färgsystemet av typ RAL (RAL Classic) betecknas ***kulörerna*** med ett fyrsiffrigt nummer.
and even more confusing
Vid markering av vindkraftverk får den vita färgkulören enligt CIE-standard ersättas med vit ***färgkulör*** enligt färgsystem RAL 7035, RAL 7038 eller RAL 9003.
So my question is; Is there a difference between "fârg" and "kulör" and if "yes", how to express this in English
If 'no", what is färgkulör" then??? Just a pointless reiteration or emphasis or what?

And in your example they are saying that it is possible to replace the shade of white paint identified by the CIE standard with paint of the shade represented by either RAL 7035, RAL 7038 or RAL 9003.

: Agree on "shade". Or simply "colour". The issue is that "färg" can have the meaning both of "paint" and "colour". When you need a distinction between the material and the color, "färg" refers to paint and "kulör" to color. "Färg" in färgkulör is redundant

RAL is an European color matching system which defines colors for paint, coatings and plastics. ... 'RAL' is the abbreviation of 'Reichs-Ausschuß für Lieferbedingungen und Gütesicherung'. This name can be translated in English as 'National Commission for Delivery Terms and Quality Assurance'

"Whiteness Index CIE
Published in 1986 with the 2nd edition of Publication 15 by the CIE Colorimetry committee, this formula was presented “to promote uniformity of practice in the evaluation of whiteness of surface colours” and it is recommended to “be used for comparisons of the whiteness of samples evaluated for CIE standard illuminant D65” [CIE Technical Report 2004 Colorimetry] on a rather relative scale. The formula used is
WCIE = Y + 800(xn - x) + 1700(yn - y)
Where Y is the Y-tristimulus value of the sample, x and y are the x, y chromaticity coordinates of the sample, and xn , yn are the chromaticity coordinates of the perfect diffuser for the CIE 1964 standard colorimetric observer.
Although it might be used with C/2 illuminant/observer condition, it is strictly valid for D65/10 and shall be used in that fashion. "
