Arabic term

ورسم ذلك وقدره

Arabic to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Novel
From a marriage contract.

Discussion

Saeed Najmi Mar 5, 2021:
I guess the exact meaning of the phrase lies in what the items "و" and "ذلك" refer to. My other theory is the phrase means "issued/transcribed the marriage certificate duly" for, رسم الكتاب أي كتبه and و قدره أي أعطاه حق قدره.
Linda Al-Bairmani Mar 5, 2021:
I translated so many marriage contracts, and this bit about the fees is almost in all of them.

@ Asker: you will not get a good translation Without providing us with the whole context. Please attach a screenshoot or write at least a paragraph. Otherwise, you are only wasting your time on a guessing game ...
Verity Roat (asker) Mar 5, 2021:
I assume it's a number?
Saeed Najmi Mar 5, 2021:
I have a theory, but tell me what you think goes in the blank before I can confirm it?
Verity Roat (asker) Mar 5, 2021:
It's a form and there's a gap there to be filled in, but it has been left blank.
Saeed Najmi Mar 5, 2021:
زواجا شرعيا على كتاب الله وسنة رسوله صلى لله عليه وسلم بايجاب وقبول وحررت بذلك نسختان سلمت احداهما للزوجة والأخرى للزوج ورسم ذلك وقدره ب 0000 جنيها
When the text provided is put together, it gives something like this. It doesn't make sense to me; something is missing.
Verity Roat (asker) Mar 5, 2021:
It says 'pounds' so presumably it's a fee?
Yassine El Bouknify Mar 5, 2021:
Please write the whole paragraph if you would like to get a good translation. As you know, it is quite difficult to translate legal phrases ....
Saeed Najmi Mar 5, 2021:
It doesn't help unfortunately. What about right after the phrase? Are there names?
Verity Roat (asker) Mar 5, 2021:
The sentence before is زواجا شرعيا على كتاب الله وسنة رسوله صلى لله عليه وسلم بايجاب وقبول وحررت بذلك نسختان سلمت احداهما للزوجة والأخرى للزوج
Saeed Najmi Mar 5, 2021:
Kindly provide the environment where the phrase occurs.

Another option is: issued (without the term "fee"). and estimated at

Of course I mean ''fee issued and estimated at''. The term ''fee'' may be omitted.
