brigidm Feb 15, 2021:
"I en stridssituasjon er hele besetningen på vakt, såkalt «klart skip». Klart skip er derimot ikke betegnet som en vakt, men som en rulle, et system der hele eller deler av besetningen er fordelt til faste plasser eller funksjoner avhengig av situasjonen. I tillegg til klart skip, er det en havarirulle, en rulle for forlate fartøyet og en fortøyningsrulle." https://snl.no/vakt_-_på_skip

Very difficult to find references on Google because it has another meaning in gaming.

As far as I can discover, 'roll' is a list of people (perhaps on a roll of paper in earlier times).
For example, "roll" in English can be translate as 'folkeliste' according to Marcussen.
Note from asker:
Thanks Diarmuid. So does "roll" here mean "roll call" Like an accident roll call?
Or do you think that it is only referring to physical damage (i.e. not to people, not to the crew), like an "inventory of damage"?

This might help?

This is in Danish (which is quite close to Norwegian), but I think it might give you an idea of the meaning of “rulle”
