Another term from the same text. This also appears as a heading in a postgraduate pharmaceutical degree transcript, in the detailed marks section listing the subject modules. In the column under this heading, the entry for each individual subject is Y. At the bottom, under total for the subject modules, there is the entry Y=6 (as there are six subject modules). I have not been able to find the abbreviation in any context relevant to transcripts.

It sounds like the type of course, as in compulsory/mandatory (the "Υ" you see in the column below stands for "υποχρεωτικό") or elective.

To clarify: There are compulsory/mandatory courses (υποχρεωτικά, in Greek) and elective courses (επιλογής, in Greek). So, in the type column of the degree transcript, you may see the type Y (compulsory), the type E (electives), or the type YE (υποχρεωτικά επιλογής), which are compulsory elective courses (as opposed to free elective courses).
