BACKBONE

English to French Marketing Computers: Software Modélisation de produits d'assurance
Dans le cadre d'un programme de formation à la modélisation de produit (pour des polices d'assurance) :

Backbone of products are really similar. All product
have General Conditions, General Exclusions and a
number of coverages.
The backbone is the representation of that. In 99% of
the time you can create a rule General Conditions, a
rule General Exclusions, and a rule for each
coverages / guarantee in the product.

disagree Daryo : this text is about how to create legal texts (wording of insurance policies), nothing to do with any kind of "backbone" of the IT variety. The fact that software is used for that is a Big Fat Red Herring - it's still about the "backbone" ***of the text***
