Spanish term

índices parentales

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Los índices ESG han superado a sus índices parentales

references to 'parental' in English or Spanish only refer to parenting. My text has nothing to do with parenting, its about ESG applied to investments.

Does it refer to the original indexes? Any ideas?
many thanks

ESG Environmental, social, and governance. What they're saying is that the companies in any given index that were well run, and looked after their stakeholders and the environment, outperformed those that didn't.

A quick search yielded these results, among many others:
"The S&P ESG Index Family offers investors exposure to companies according to their ESG profile in the context of country-specific and regional indices. The index family is based on S&P DJI ESG Scores, based on the results of the annual SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The index family includes broad market indices like the S&P 500 ESG, S&P Europe 350 ESG, S&P Global 1200 ESG, and S&P Japan 500 ESG,designed to closely track their parent indices with similar risk and return profile and low tracking error."

"The MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes target companies that have the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) rated performance in each sector of the parent index. The indexes target a 50% sector representation vs. the parent index, aiming to include companies with the highest MSCI ESG Ratings in each sector. The index suite utilizes MSCI’s award winning ESG Research and ESG Ratings to identify companies that have demonstrated an ability to manage their ESG risks and opportunities and are therefore eligible for inclusion."

header indices

Parent and child are terms used in IT heirarchies, so I assume it means the base or head/er or main or parent indices.
Parent-child hierarchies are often used to represent charts of accounts, stores,... However, the specific term in banking/finance may be different.
Example sentence:

In the most important header indices the new IMAGIC-4D header format remains compatible

index rates/stakes have outclassed any estimation

Los índices ESG han superado a sus índices parentales

ESG is a Paris-based trade and commerce undergraduate and graduate school, so I will assume that the clause/assertion implies something in regards to that school.
Here are two options to the paragraph translation into English:

1. ESG index rates/stakes have outclassed any estimation
2. ESG attendance indices by people in age of parenthood have increased dramatically over time

Sorry for not giving you better or more information.
