Spanish term

POSTROMBOLISIS

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
This is part of a diagnosis: "ACS TYPE AMI CESST OF LOWER FACE + POSTROMBOLISIS + ISCHEMIC CARDIOMYOPATHY + DM2"

Discussion

Chema Nieto Castañón Dec 9, 2020:
I feel the problem with the translation is just where to put "post-thrombolysis". From what I can imagine, the original first point might be trying to convey an inferior STEMI, as an acute diagnosis, while the third and fourth points seem part of the clinical history of the patient. Post-thrombolysis as second point must be related to the first rather than to the patient's history, and so without the Spanish original rendering I would read it as a post-thrombolysis inferior STEMI in a patient with (previous) ischemic cardiomyopathy and type 2 diabetes.

But yes, we should read the original Spanish as is to clear this out...
Joseph Tein Dec 9, 2020:
lower face? It's better if you post your entire text in the source language, rather than your translation with just one Spanish term. But since you have done so ... there is no "lower face" on a heart in English. It's the lower wall. We need to translate into the correct terminology in the target language.

post-thrombolysis STEMI

I can only but guess your original might be talking of an acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (a STEMI) -un ACS "CESST"; acute coronary syndrome "con elevación del (segmento) ST" (?).

As for postrombolisis (post-thrombolysis) it might well refer to the STEMI itself (a post-thrombolysis STEMI) rather than to the patient's clinical history (ischemic chardiomyopathy and type II Diabetes).

So, the original might be trying to convey this:

Post-thrombolysis STEMI in a patient with ischemic cardiomyopathy and type II diabetes.

Anyhow, it might be helpful to read the original Spanish as is.
