Spanish term

estancia

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) Air purfiier units
It keeps coming up in a translation about air purifier units. I think it's along the lines of "space" or "room" but am struggling to find similar references to this term. Here are some examples:

Tiempos estimado para filtrar dos veces el volumen de aire de la estancia.

Minutos para purificar la estancia

Además, podrás conocer el tiempo real que el purificador seleccionado tarda en renovar el aire de tu estancia.

Thanks for your help.

Discussion

A. Deb (asker) Nov 16, 2020:
It's brochure aimed at consumers of domestic air purifiers. So I´m guessing room / space is the best option.
matt robinson Nov 16, 2020:
Well, in the first two examples it does not say "tu estancia", but if it is aimed at the householder I personally would go with "room".
philgoddard Nov 16, 2020:
Householder That's why it says "tu estancia".
matt robinson Nov 16, 2020:
More context required For example, who is the document for? Fitter, engineer, architect, householder, etc?

Estancia is a room. It is a synonym of "habitación" but perhaps on a more literary level.

The example you give is like: minutes required to purify the air in the room the person is in.
Note from asker:
That's what I thought Maria. Although it brochure for a domestic purifier so it seemed a bit strange that they would use such a literary term.
