A fenti kifejezés szintén a lézeres mikrostrukturáló rendszer leírásából származik, ugyanabból a részből:

"At the beginning of the execution of a jump command, the reflectors must first be
accelerated to the jump speed specified. There is a drag delay as a result of this. At
the end of the jump, the reflectors must be braked again completely. Based on their
inertia there is a settling effect around the target point. In order to contribute to the
drag delay and the necessary settling down, a so-called jump delay is added by the
RTC after every jump command. The greater the jump speed, the longer is the jump
delay."
