Posiblemente sea cilindro Como dice sofía, posiblemente sea un error de escritura, ya que el cilindro del motor sube en los tiempos de compresión y escape.

Creo que un "colander valve" es como un "strainer valve" y funciona como un colador, y en ese caso, si fuera así, el significado es este: "Strainer valve: Y-Strainers are devices for mechanically removing unwanted solids from liquid, gas or steam lines by means of a perforated or wire mesh straining element. They are used in pipelines to protect pumps, meters, control valves, steam traps, regulators and other process equipment."

colander valve Habría que consultar con el cliente si se trata de un error de tipografía ya que existe un trabajo sobre "colander valve", en ese caso no sería correcto traducir "colander" como cilindro.
