I've never seen "diplomerad" used in this way before in comparison to "certifierad"
Vi har varit ***diplomerade*** inom miljö och kvalitet en längre tid och tog förra året steget upp till en ISO-certifiering för informationssäkerhet.
My searches are polluted by "diploma in environmental science" etc.
What does this mean? Does it mean that the employees have relevant diplomas in environmental studies and quality control or is it the company that is "diplomerad". If so, how would we say this in English?

The Swedish term seems to suggest a concern that the standard should not be seen as equal to ISO, or competing with it. You could address that by modifying my term to something like: "Environmentally certified per a national scheme geared towards small (and medium-sized) businesses".
