This is a pretty regular occurrence on the trail, especially with the younger generation, as we older walkers have to get the miles in why we can, whereas the young ones eat up the miles at a pretty voracious pace, and so can afford to rest up in the shade!

Mornings were my favorite. As I hiked I watched the earth wake up—first light filtering through the tree canopy or luminous light hitting the tree tops in the valley below. My feet seemed to eat up the miles and my brain was alive with deep thoughts.

Pump up your tires and go for a ride. Check out one of the many mountain bike trails scattered throughout the state, or eat up the miles as you a ride down one of the many rail-trails that pass through the forests.

to blast down
I do think "polykac kilometry" shouldn't be translated literary. I would say that rather a form of a local transcreation should be used. None of the phrases using words associated with eating sounds natural or IS in fact a good translation. "To blast down" simply means to travel/move very fast and, while expressed in different words, it does reflect the writer's intent.
Example sentence:
Nothing compares to blasting down a busy city street with friends, while everybody else is sitting in an office at work.
Something went wrong...
