Proofread

English to Spanish Other Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Free Review
Hi,

I have been adding transcripts and subs in Spanish to some of my YouTube clips, some of them are excerpts from movies or interviews. I'd like to know if there's some forum where volunteers offer to proofread for free.

Thanks!
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Sergio Kot, Rui Domingues

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Exactly! Just shows that some people don't read any further that the part "English term or phrase: ..."

Context seems to be a dirty word? Or possibly I missed the latest fashion: has "context is for wimps" become the latest linguists's motto?
Sergio Kot Aug 25, 2020:
No Question This is not a question but a request for info. Not the right forum.

disagree Daryo : right anwer, but to the wrong question // the wrongly asked "right" question is in fact, as per Asker's own words "I'd like to know if there's some forum where volunteers offer to proofread for free" i.e. "help me get a freebie!

revisar

It must not be confused with edit, a revising process in which you can compare the source and the target. Whereas in proofreading, you only have the target text.

Hello, Rafa. I don't know any forums, but maybe you could try uploading your videos to a platform. For example, in Amara's platform, Teams post their videos so a volunteer can translate them. Then, another volunteer reviews them before they are published on Youtube. Maybe you can try it out and see if it works for you.
