Cases of chronic conditions, cancer, serious adverse events or non-serious adverse reactions ongoing at the time of the death (that is, the patient dies from another serious adverse event) can be closed with the outcome of “recovering” or “not recovered”. Cases can be closed with an outcome of “recovering” when the patient has completed the study and is expected by the physician to recover.
