loss of haustra
or haustral loss
The haustral folds (Latin: haustrum, plural: haustra) represent folds of mucosa within the colon. The haustra refer to the small segmented pouches of bowel separated by the haustral folds. They are formed by circumferential contraction of the inner muscular layer of the colon.
The outer longitudinal muscular layer is organised into three bands (taeniae coli) which run from the caecum to the rectum. These muscular bands and the elongated serosal fat saccules (appendices epiploicae) aid in the identification of the colon within the peritoneal cavity.

Widespread loss of haustra is a sign of chronic ulcerative colitis.[1] Localized ahaustral distended colon can be seen on abdominal x-ray during obstruction or volvulus.

Complete loss of colonic haustration was observed in six cases of progressive systemic sclerosis. Varying degrees of haustral loss or sacculation were noted in twelve others.

Many thanks, but please note that "haustral loss" has nothing to do with "loss of home ownership". O".
