How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Tony M Apr 14, 2020: @ Marie-Christine I am well aware how common this term is in FR — but it covers a great many different concepts; hence unless we know the details of company XXX, we can only "guess" which of the many possibilities might be required to express it in EN The problem here is not understanding the general cpncept in FR, but rather, selecting the appropriate term in EN. Perhaps you have some suggestions?

philgoddard Apr 14, 2020: Yes It's a vague word, but so is "operations", which is how I always translate it in this context.
Tony M Apr 14, 2020: @ Asker Unfortunately, 'exploitation' is one of those words that can have very many different translations depending on the context — and if it opposes something else in some given organization. Unless you know what kind of business XXX is in, and so can hazard a guess what kind of 'exploitation' it might be, you'll probably have to keep it fairly non-committal.
