Barbouillage ou maculage ou défiguration, mais je préfère le terme "barbouillage" parce qu' il y a un autre terme pour "défiguration" qui est "defacement". Résultat d’une activité malveillante qui a modifié l’apparence ou le contenu d’un serveur internet, et a donc violé l’intégrité des pages en les altérant.
Remarques : Cette action malveillante est souvent accompagnée de revendications.

There are many ways and reasons for "modification of data by a running system during the data acquisition process" (and "forensics" or not makes no difference) - like rejecting extreme / improbable values, which is NOT "data smear"
More accurately "data smear" is a very special case of filling of deliberately omitted data - the value of which is known for sure - so it's not any kind of "interpolation" (which would be yet another case of "modification of data by a running system during the data acquisition process ")
The "smearing" has nothing to do with any kind of "souillure des données", on the contrary if anything else it's more a "cleaning" of data to make it usable in nowadays formats.
