Spanish term

terminal de tipo anilla

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Nuclear Eng/Sci
I'm having trouble with this sentence in bold, I think due to the way it's written and my lack of knowledge about electricity. It seems to me to be saying "If using terminals, these should be for a ring-type terminal" and that doesn't make any sense to me. Are there two types of terminals, and if so, how should I translate each so this makes sense in English? There's nothing else the "estas" could be referring to in the context above, I checked the whole page for something feminine it might be referring to, but nada.

Can anyone enlighten me? A mistake in the source is possible, as I've found several, so I'm not ruling that out, if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Robert, thanks so much for your contribution, I'm sure it will be helpful to future Kudoz-ers. In the end the client wasn't even sure, and they decided that the "para" was simply not supposed to be there and that it made enough sense to be understood without the "for". But it's definitely possible that the original author meant, "If using terminal blocks, they should be suitable for ring connectors". Who knows? ;)
Robert Carter Feb 6, 2020:
Sorry, just to clarify, I think the translation would then be "If using terminal blocks, they should be suitable for ring connectors".
Robert Carter Feb 6, 2020:
@S. Kathryn I think the idea is that the "terminal blocks" should be able to accommodate "ring terminal connectors". By "terminal/borne" I think they are referring to a terminal block, and "terminales" are "terminals" or "connectors". That makes more sense to me.

ring terminal

Nuclear engineering is definitely not my field. But I've found a link... (see below). It's a pdf file. Check page 3.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Guillermo, it being a ring-type terminal was clear to me, but in the end I determined that there was an extra word, "para", in the source, which was what was making that sentence confusing. If you put "para", it's like saying, "If apples are to be bought, these must be for red ones". Sorry if I didn't explain myself very well on what the issue actually was, but thanks for your help!"
