Dispose vs. dispose of Obrigado, Gilmar, for the endorsement. Again, I think that your whole phrase ought to read 'dispose of and....'. However, 'dispose of the case' would IMO mean > deal with the case initially and take the decree back to its 'case disposal' = the starting point of the petition cf. confusingly: a 'disposal hearing' in English procedure that is about debt recovery by instalment payment.

Muito obrigada, Gilmar, pensei isso também pois file é meio dúbio porque também significa instaurar. Então farei conforme você sugeriu "dispose and file the case away". Só não sei como fazer para escolher a melhor resposta. Você pode me ajudar?

@Gracinda Sim, acho que "file away" como o colega Adrian MM sugeriu seria uma boa tradução de arquivar neste contexto. Observe que "file" sem o "away" poderia ter o significado de "instaurar, começar, entrar com um processo". Então ficaria: "dispose and file the case away".

Olá, Gilmar, eu gostei do termo "dispose", mas será que no caso do meu texto, não ficaria melhor dispose and file, porque em português é "Dê-se baixa e arquivem-se". Acho que dispos e close seria mais ou menos a mesma coisa.

Fechar o caso e depois arquivar. Sugestão, mas geralmente usa-se assim para ambos os termos.

Porque muitas vezes o caso é fechado mas as provas e todos os trâmites da decisão judicial ficam sim arquivados.

Dar baixa = occurs when the court returns the case file to the court office on conclusion of the proceedings. (not to be confused with "baixa dos auto" which is "volta dos autos do grau superior para o juizo originário, após julgamento do último recurso interposto".)
