The section in question is about the compulsory insurance drivers need to have. Here's the context:

"Los gastos de sanatorio o velatorio de terceros, serán abonados de inmediato por el asegurador, sin perjuicio de los derechos que se pueden hacer valer luego.
El acreedor por tales servicios puede subrogarse en el crédito del tercero o sus derechohabientes.

Carece de validez la renuncia a un reclamo posterior, hecha con motivo de este pago."


I'm stuck on the final sentence: "Carece de validez la renuncia a un reclamo posterior, hecha con motivo de este pago". I'm assuming "este pago" is referring to the pay-out from the insurer to cover the third party's medical/funeral costs, but I can't understand what waiving a claim has to do with that. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
