English term

officer in charge (OC)

English to French Other Safety Police
This is a document about policing in Africa and it is listing different functions within the police force.

The National police is headed by the inspector general of police, who is based at the National Police Headquarters.
Below this, the command of policing is split into four regions, with each region headed by a commissioner of police.
At regional level, command is divided between stations, sub-stations, posts and units, each headed by an officer in charge (OC).

I could say agent responsable, but am not sure this is correct.

Your suggestions would be most welcome

Officier responsable

Je n'ai pas beaucoup mieux... Il s'agit du chef de la police locale mais le terme varie énormément d'un pays à l'autre.
