When it comes to families, appearances can be deceiving./Smiling family photos can hide many tears.
Kilka propozycja na każdą okazję
When it comes to families, what you see is not what you get.
Families look their best only in pictures. Reality is often worse.
Family pictures often belie the reality of family life.
In business affairs, trust your family only as far as you can spit.

It's like in one big, happy family...; we're just one big happy family...
This saying is very often used ironically, e.g. when family feuds or problems are mentioned.

Just One Big, Happy Family?
Given the undercurrent of hostility, as well as the myriad problems that may arise — drunk uncles, political catfights, who’s gluten free and who eats only what they kill — how is a modern family to survive these squabbles? To pick up some tips, I reached out to some families who deserve Olympic medals for their longstanding reunions.

Thank you, Jerry. One proposal was, "...make business", and that's why I suggested changing it into "do business".

: DO business. Z "business" stosuje się DO. "Make business" raczej tylko w "I make it my business to get up early in the morning."

DO = ? Potrzebuję wyjaśnienia. Czy to akronim, czy rozumieć bezpośrednio, czy...?// :-)

Only on photographs would your kin look nice
It's not very often used, but it rings the bell. I've heard it being said and I'm pretty sure it's correct.
