wherein the product titer when using the auxotrophy cured prokaryotic strain is higher than the product titer that can be obtained with a corresponding prototrophic wild-type strain.
Discussion
By curing an auxotrophic prokaryotic strain of one or more of its auxotrophies the auxotrophy cured strain can grow on a chemically defined minimal growth medium to which the substance corresponding to the auxotrophy that has been cured no further needs to be added.
