German term

Stiftabfragen

German to English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting Foundry
Stanz- und Entgratwerkzeuge mit Stiftabfragen für vorgegossene Löcher ausstatten.

This has to do with foundry practices. Unfortunately there isn't any more context.

Deburring with Additional Function
Contactless electrochemical machining (ECM) demonstrates its strengths in this respect...
This makes it possible to reliably deburr difficult-to-access areas such as edges, undercuts, internal bore intersections and pockets at a precisely defined location on the workpiece...
Additionally, ECM makes it possible to produce, for example, highly precise contours, ducts, slots and hollows in a reproducible manner without any thermal or mechanical stressing.

pin detection (systems)

Hi Dhananjay,

I think the "Abfrage" here is a sensor/detection system mounted on your punching and deburring die. These are conventional tools uses to align holes properly, which is very important in injection molding. It's plural (Abfragen) because there are probably several sensors mounted on the die.

The Stift (core pin)/Löcher combination is sufficient context to know that what we're dealing with here is hole punching on molded parts.

This can also be pin sensors, pin detectors, pin detection systems.

No time to look for precise references but this is a start.

Good luck!

Previous questions

Funnily enough, exactly the same sentence was asked in German to Italian eight years ago:

Perno means pivot.
And the asker posted this question to Translators' Cafe recently:

I have no idea if any of the answers or contributions are correct.

You say there isn't any other context, but unless your customer has sent you a single sentence, there must be some.

Something to do with CAD?
Note from asker:
Sure there is more text, but they are all bulleted disjointed sentences: Druckguss  Gasgehalt < Dichte Index (DI) 3 bei Probennahme aus Pfanne.  Entgasen und Abziehen der Schmelze ist zwingend.  Anteil Kreislaufmaterial ca. 20%.  automatischer Trennmittelauftrag (mindestens 2-achsig bei Hinterschneidungen).  automatische Überwachung der Pressrestdicke und ggf. Kennzeichnung Ausschleusung „suspekter“ Teile.  zuverlässige Überprüfung des kompletten Ausbaus (inkl. Luftbohnen etc.) zur Vermeidung von Crash.  Stanz- und Entgratwerkzeuge mit Stiftabfragen für vorgegossene Löcher ausstatten.
