Je cherche la définition du mot "founder" dans la phrase : "These animals represent valuable new founders and all efforts should be made to integrate them into an existing breeding programme, in North Africa or AZA/EAZA".
Je pense qu'il s'agit d'un potentiel géniteur et non "fondateur".

je pense qu'on parle effectivement de "fondateurs". Mais même en génétique, il semble que le terme demeure "animal fondateur":
