Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Neurophysiology report
Hi everyone,

I am translating a neurophysiology report and I'm struggling with the abbreviation "st" in the following segment:

El paciente refiere que está en trámites de incapacidad y que le están poniendo muchos problemas y que no puede trabajar porque tiene muchos dolores generalizados, st cervical y cefalea a nivel occipital con parestesias 4º y 5º dedos ambas manos.

This is a patient who was involved in a car accident and suffers cervical pain, among other aftereffects, but I'm not sure what "st" stands for there. I thought it might be a typo, but I don't know.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

The first thing that occurs to me is: sobre todo, i.e. primarily, but it's nothing more than a guess.
Robert Carter Nov 25, 2017:
After a quick check on Cosnautas, do you think it could it be "síntoma"?

(síndrome tensional) cervical tension syndrome

This is a bit of a guess too but if the patient has whiplash from the car crash, it fits. Especially as headaches are mentioned too.

For this I have found cervical tension syndrome/posttraumatic neck syndrome:
a syndrome of neck pain, tenderness, and spasm, often associated with ill-defined symptoms (for example, dizziness, blurred vision), resulting from neck trauma, most often of the whiplash variety. Synonym(s): cervical fibrositis, cervical tension syndrome.
