Italian term

Mtà (abbreviation)

Italian to English Art/Literary History
Mtà or S. Mtà in an old Latin and Italian document about diplomatic correspondences. This abbreviation seems to be connected to the Latin Mte as in 'ab ipsius Mte tandem aliquid obtineam'.
Proposed translations (English)
3 +4 Majesty

agree bluenoric : very likely, but S. should be His/Her Majesty. When directly addressing a king/queen it is then Vostra Maestà Your Majesty
