Auditor\'s report on auditing the Group Management Report
Dear all,
We are translating the Group Management Report of the ZZZ Group concerning the Consolidated Financial Statements as at 30/UU/2015 from German/Germany into English/UK. The reporting entity is required to observe German GAAP/HGB accounting regulations when drawing up the various Zahlenwerke/'accounting statements' of the Group/entities included in the basis of consolidation, its own single-entity financial statements and the Consolidated Financial Statements for the Group. (Have I gotten this right logically just now? The job is quite large at 25.3 K words.)
DE:
Die Währungsdifferenzen im Eigenkapital - einschließlich der auf Fremdgesellschafter entfallenden Anteile - in Höhe von TEUR X.XXX resultieren im Wesentlichen aus der Veränderung der ***Aufrechnungsdifferenzen*** aus der Stichtagsbewertung der Forderungen und Verbindlichkeiten der im Konsolidierungskreis enthaltenen Gesellschaften die in Fremdwährung geführt werden.
First draft, not yet proofread, including two alternative translations still awaiting a final decision:
The equity differences due to currency translation [PricewaterhouseCoopers]/currency translation differences [fellow accounting translator] - including the shares attributable to third-party shareholders - in the amount of kEUR X,XXX largely result from the change in the ***netting differences*** resulting from the reporting date measurement of the receivables owed to and liabilities towards the companies included in the basis of consolidation that are carried/denominated in foreign currency.
What would you put?
Best regards,
Sebastian Witte

netting/elimination/offsetting differences
Sebastian: All of these are possible, so you're free to stick with your own suggestion of "netting differences", which is perfectly acceptable. My own preference would be for "elimination differences" because we're talking about consolidation adjustments (eliminations) here, but there's no particular reason for you to follow my preference.
Some other points:
"Equity differences due to currency translation" is pure translatorese Denglish. This is simply not an English accounting term, as opposed to "currency translation differences".
"auf Fremdgesellschafter entfallende Anteile" are "minority interests", pure and simple.
I would say simply "receivables from and liabilities to" and "that are accounted for in foreign currency".
