English term

disgorge

English to French Bus/Financial Economics
Bonjour,

Comment traduiriez-vous ce terme dans le contexte suivant ?

Footnote: "The author tests whether this condition holds in developed economies and show that the productive sector disgorges at least as much as it invests."

The footnote refers to: "Consequently, bubbles can only emerge in dynamically inefficient economies, where in the absence of bubbles, an equilibrium with low interest rates may exist in such a way that, in order to transfer resources across generations, the amount of capital accumulated is so large that the marginal investment exceeds the marginal income it produces."

Merci d'avance :)

neutral Daryo : literally yes, but it doesn't make much sense combined in "... disgorges at least as much as it invests" - more context needed

produit/a un output

literally, to disgorge = 'déverser' ou 'décharger' in French. But those two French verbs are not part of economics. Hence my translation.

"Produire' is literally what the productive sector is about in microeconomics. Output, which is now a French word (see attachment), is better than 'production'. Why? Because the productive sector, as defined by microeconomics, transforms inputs into outputs.

Thanks!
disagree Daryo : ... disgorges at least as much as it invests => comparing/balancing the total output /production with investments doesn't make sense - it must be some other meaning - more context needed

Is 'disgorging' an economic concept, professor Daryo?
