The "preamble" (aka "run-in sequence") is a succession of alternating logic 1s and 0s which precede the sync word, and form part of the header of a digital data frame.
The preamble is a convenient point in the data-stream to measure receiver sensitivity, because it has a mark/space ratio of 1, and a well-defined mean signal level (DC component of the digital waveform); in contrast, all other parts of the data frame have variable mark/space ratio, variable DC component, and hence lead to unrepresentative measurements of receiver sensitivity.

Sensitividad
La sensitividad (tambien llamada responsividad) es el nivel mínimo de señal que el receptor de un equipo de comunicaciones es capaz de detectar para poder trabajar. Esos -125 deben ser en dBm, lo cual le da un buen rango de operación para ser un equipo de uso sin repetición (dice licenced free band); estimo que con ese valor debe tener un rango de entre 2,5 a 3 km de cobertura, dependiendo de la potencia del transmisor.

: What about "Preamble", which is an integral part of the term questioned by Asker?// Asker is a telecoms specialist (as I am myself...), so we already know how to translate "sensitivity". The problem word is "preamble" - you cannot simply ignore it.
