Spanish term

nos incluimos (in this context)

Spanish to English Marketing Marketing / Market Research Market Research project
Does this mean that, within the research, they include themselves
as part of the families being studied or does it have a different meaning, that escapes my understanding?
It seems rather strange for a research company to include themselves in a project!!

Thank you.....

This is the context:

Robert Carter Mar 23, 2017:
Really? I was thinking it might refer to "investigaciones" (etnográficas).
Eileen Brophy (asker) Mar 23, 2017:
@Robert Carter Maybe I was not clear enough, the research mentions the changes that are taking place in family structures in Spain nowadays, with single parent families, transgender, etc.
Eileen Brophy (asker) Mar 23, 2017:
@Robert Carter The Etnográficas refer to families, the people living in the families, I think.
Robert Carter Mar 23, 2017:
Hello, Eileen, what does "las Etnográficas" refer to? I think that's really the key here.

get inside

(Explanation: I thought of this earlier but didn't have time to post it, and meanwhile Ana posted a similar idea which I thought was good so I was going to leave it. But she's suggested I post it, and I suppose it's useful to have a range of options to choose from.)

I entirely agree with Bea and Ana about the meaning. This is how I would express it, and it's used in the literature on ethnographic research. Since it's a bit informal in register, it's sometimes put in inverted commas in academic texts, but in your context I don't think that's probably necessary.

"As Hammersley states, “The task [of ethnographers] is to document the culture, the perspectives and practices, of the people in these settings. The aim is to ‘get inside’ the way each group of people sees the world."

we get involved/we take part in

No, I do not think it means what you think, but rather that the researchers get involved/take part actively in all those items mentioned.

Yes, Eileen, I think this could be one possible option (among others).
Note from asker:
So, Toni, I could translate is as "we actively take part in..." ?

included

With ethnograhics,we are included(we are part of it) in its natural context,in its family and in its life.

This is certainly a branch of anthropplogy dealing with the scientific description of individual culture and way of life.

we act as participant-observers in their natural environment

"Participant-observation" is a common research method and concept in the social sciences, and it sounds like this is what is being referred to here.

we immerse ourselves

Another suggestion.

Thank you, Neil!
agree Ana Mongelos García : I think this is what it really means. Not that the researchers take part as subjects of their own research; they are trying to explain where their research takes place: in the context of family daily life. The sentence tries to involve the reader, I think

Thank you, Ana!
agree Charles Davis : Or "get inside", which is how it's often expressed in ethnographic research.

https://jbiencinto.wordpress.com/2015/08/30/entrevistas-etno...

Note from asker:
"We enter" would be a good option then Beatriz?
Or "we become part of?"
