Danish term

forløb

Danish to English Medical Medical (general) Guidelines for online medical reporting
Every so often I stumble upon the word, forløb, which I often rewrite, depending on the context.

In this particular project, it occurs as follows:

...patienten er tilknyttet en given enhed i et ambulant forløb.

På grundlag af ambulant kontakt oprettes forløbselement.

...som her udtrykkes som et forløbselement, der angiver et ambulant tilhørsforhold til et sygehus under et givent forløbsansvar.

It's a bit tricky...

Any good suggestions???

You're welcome. Good luck with the project.

Okay Thanks so much for your input - much appreciated :)
Dr Maggie Watts Mar 6, 2017:
Forløbselement is part/element of treatment and forløbsansvar is clinical responsibility for the course of treatment. To streamline these for software I would consider just using "part of treatment" and "clinical responsibility" but it would depend on context.
Pernille Kienle (asker) Mar 6, 2017:
Yes, I realize that, but... then how would you phrase forløbselement and forløbsansvar - I guess that's what I'm getting at... It should be brief and to the point as it's part of online instructions for a new software program...

Course (of treatment)

In your example the course of treatment would be as an outpatient. A course of treatment suggests more than one treatment.
