Perform dilution and re-growth

1. Prepare BHI tubes by dispensing 500 μL of BHI broth into each cluster tube.
2. Label the first tube in each row of eight so that it corresponds to the appropriate pre-enriched sample or blank.
3. Next, break each linked cluster tube apart from one another so when the enrichment is added to the BHI a single tube can be lifted from the rack allowing complete removal from other open tubes. This safeguards against the possibility of accidentally placing the pipette tip in the wrong tube, touching the opening of an adjacent open tube or droplets/aerosols from a pipette tip cross contaminating an adjacent open tube.
4. To perform regrowth, transfer 10 μL of each pre-enriched sample to each tube using a single channel micropipette and displacement.
