English term

pressure-operated cut-off switch

English to French Tech/Engineering Automation & Robotics HANDLE APPLYING MACHINE
When the pressure goes down and reaches the 4 bar value, the pressure-operated cut-off switch sends an

electrical signal to the PLC,: which provides to stop the motors and signals the alarm situation on the display.

This situation of alarm may occur because of anomalies in the supply line’s air pressure, because of an

incorrect setting value, or because of wrong functioning.

pressostat

To some extent, part of this expression is redundant, since the text explains what it is / does; I think the key element here is 'pressure switch' = 'pressostat'

Daryo has quite rightly pointed out that i have translated 'pressure-operated switch', but have left out the 'cut-off' part, which to me is redundant: we know that detection of pressure is being used to operate a switch, and the following explanation details what that then does, so 'cut-off' here is only an additional qualification for what the 'pressure switch' is being used for; I don't believe it is, for example, identifying some special type of 'pressure switch' (since in fact we know from what follows that the 'pressure switch' itself isn't actually doing the cutting-off (if it were, it might need to have more generously rated contacts, for example); here, it is just being used to generate a signal to then actuate something else.

neutral Daryo : wouldn't that be only the part detecting the variation in pressure? It sends the signal that the pressure is off-limits, but doesn't do any "cutting off"? https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressostat

A pressostat is a pressure switch, which can be used for many functions, including cutting off; here, we know it is operating the cut-off function indirectly.
