Oh, hey, here is an idea: Mingazzini! Just the sort of term that doctors would rather jot down as MZ! And relevant in this context as well, being a test for examining paresis! Two versions: palms up and palms down, I believe. May just be the expansion you are looking for! ;)

Could it be an abbreviation of Motorische Zenuw or Motorische Zenuwcel.

What part of the body are we looking at? If it is the face, could this be some sort of private abbreviation for musculus zygomaticus major and minor? Like in checking facial nerve function? Not at all sure, just a wild guess on a lazy afternoon...
