5. SOLAS Passenger vessel.

To make long story short in my experience I have never heard anyone using term STATEK KONWENCYJNY to SOLAS Passenger Vessel. Term STATEK KONWENCYJNY targets small cargo ships which are built just over the 500GT lower limit of SOLAS application.

Yes I confirm there there might be SOLAS Passenger vessel however there are so many factors involved like national voyage, short international voyage, high speed crafts which makes certification of Passengers vessels very special (opposite to Cargo Ships) and it would be very inaccurate and non-professinoal to call SOLAS Passenger Ship as STATEK KONWENCYJNY.

Lots of passengers ships are NOT subject to SOLAS as they are:
A) sailing on domestic routes (regardless of route's distance Gdansk-Hel, Genoa-Palermo, San Diego-Hawaii)
B) subject to HSC Code

I hope this clarifies professional point of view for subject term.

1. Private Yachts (pleasure crafts not for charter) either sailing or motor are NOT subject to SOLAS.
2. Commercial (commercial yachts for charter) are generally subject to Yacht Codes (again not SOLAS in full) which may partly incorporate SOLAS requirements, often with major modifications. i.e. radio equipment regulations of SOLAS are incorporated into MCA / Malta Yacht Codes with exception to SOLAS requirement to duplication of the equipment. When SOLAS Radio certificate is issued to the commercial yacht bears wording about compliance with yacht code not SOLAS. Yes it sound like Catch 22.
3. NAVY training vessels (i.e. largest tall ships) are NOT subject to SOLAS as they are considered ships of war.
4. Merchant (Civil) Marine Academies training vessels typically carrying over 12 students (who are not certified crew) might fall under pax ship requirements of SOLAS however due to specialized mission, construction of the vessel, students are considered as SPECIALIZED PERSONNEL hence SPS Code applies. Such vessel however involved in international voyage may be issued with SOLAS certificates with numerous exception listed on said certificate.

Of course there are. Certain passenger vessels (defined as carrying more than 12 passengers) have to comply with SOLAS requirements (albeit not always all of them) and are generally considered SOLAS-vessels.

Not to mention "true" passenger ships (ferries, cruisers, etc.), but also - sic! - the largest tall ships used for Navy training.
