Spanish term

altura mínima transitable

Spanish to English Other Architecture Construction regulations
Hello there,

I'm having trouble finding the proper translation for Altura mínima transitable (en m). The text is a description in a table of regulations for hotel and tourist accomodations. Could someone give me a hand?

Thank you all in advance!
Proposed translations (English)
1 minimum corridor ceiling height

Thomas Walker Jul 11, 2015:
More common English usage at least in the US seems to be ""Minimum Height Clearance or "Minimum Vertical Clearance". I would give a fuller answer but it seems I'm blocked from doing so.

I know what this is but as I am not a member I will keep it to myself

minimum corridor ceiling height

"According to BCA Vol 2 part 3.8.2, ceiling heights must not be less than:

in a habitable room excluding a kitchen - 2.4 m and
in a kitchen - 2.1m and
in a corridor or passageway etc - 2.1m"

neutral Charles Davis : I don't think it's just corridors; ref. here to "la altura mínima en metros de la superficie transitable de todas las estancias" http://tinyurl.com/p5eynys . But I don't know how to translate transitable here.
