Spanish term

Mediana comercial

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Real Estate real estate - rental property

[From the photo that I can see on the website this is a large building with an electronics store, which occupies a whole block between two roads in what looks like a newly-built area. "Mediana" is normally a central reservation but I think probably not in this case but I can't think of how to describe it - perhaps commercial strip? (UK English)]

Discussion

Billh Jun 18, 2015:
I translate parque de medianas as retail park. mediana is simply "large (chain) store" - i smaller than hypermarket but bigger than ordinary stores - like diy stores etc
Billh Jun 18, 2015:
This is what it is http://www.neinver.com/es/article/centros-comerciales-y-parq...

These are like malls but with large units. I am not sure of the right term in English

I wonder if it means that it's surrounded by parking.

Proposed translations

Selected

center island (US)

This looks like the same concept: retail space on an "island" sandwiched between lanes of traffic.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Alayna. I think they were actually referring to a large piece of land where they have built a shopping mall but somehow they have decided to give it this strange name. "

when they say

xx España ha adquirido un activo muy urbano, bien ubicado y comunicado

I guess they normally have out of town retail park type assets....

please avoid "commercial". a centro comercial is a shopping centre. commercial is far too wide a term
