Ciao Danila. Ti spiego ora come interpreto la frase. In realtà, secondo me, la chiusura della parentesi è errata nel punto in cui si trova, e dovrebbe chiudersi proprio prima di "althoug", almeno per rendere la frase più comprensibile e delimitare meglio l'inciso. PErciò, secondo me, "it announces" è riferito a "very powerful influence": "...sebbene tale influsso si annunci prepotentemente / in modo irresistibile, ecc...".

Per essere ancora più chiari, ecco come vedo il passo:
