Discussion

franglish Feb 6, 2015:
Yes, useful for beneficial insects, more for shelter than food, actually. By experience with my garden.
Jacek Konopka Feb 6, 2015:
Nützlinge hab ich falsch gelesen- verzeihen Sie.
Jacek Konopka Feb 6, 2015:
Sorry - 'beneficial organisms'- in general. (not necessary plants).
Jacek Konopka Feb 6, 2015:
Und Kontext- vielleicht gibt es einen weiteren Kontext?

"Beneficials" ist der gaengige englischsprachige Ausdruck in der Landwirtschaft, damit werden alle nuetzliche Organismen gemeint, nicht nur Insekten.

good habitat for predatory and parasitic insects

Is what the Royal Horticultural Society has to say about such plants.

Such insects include earwigs, spiders and chrysopids (lacewings/Florfliegen).

This website has quite a lot about them:

Beneficial insects is also frequently used, as here:

Gründüngung can also be considered to be a cover crop - I always plant phacelia in late autumn and let it rot on the surface. Cut back, it is excellent ground cover and the roots bind nitrogen in the soil.
