As porcelain is white in colour I don't think the meaning of your sentence is " dark brown porcelain". I think it means that the fine porcelain bowl is painted with dark brown (probably dark brown "slip")

As far as I know the ceramic production, "pasta (impasto)" here means so called ceramic body made of the porcelain-based mixture. It's then usually coated with glaze. There are hence two types of colouring the products: paints can be added into the body or a glaze can be coloured.

Discussion
My problem is that the porcelain paste contains added pigments and the object in question is not painted on the outside. I found some useful descriptions: 'dyed in the paste', 'dyed
whilst in the clay form before haping', 'artificially
tinted in the mass'.
Unfortunately I had to decline all your proposals but I do wish to thank you a lot for all your efforts and time. Best wishes to you all.
