medium voltage, cutouts
Hello!
I am translating a brochure on a medium voltage device and I do not understand the meaning of "droping down" in relation to cutouts:
"The sectionalizer is similar to an expulsion fuse cutout, droping
down makes it easy for crew staff to readily identify fault
affected overhead lines"
My poor attempt: "El seccionalizador es similar a un cortacircuito fusible de expulsion (cutout); la interrupción facilita a los operarios identificar rápidamente las líneas aéreas afectadas por fallas".
I would really appreciate it if you could help me.
Thanks.

ABB AutoLink
It simply drops down to open the circuit - as shown at the bottom of the image on the front page (it is not a reflection)
Note from asker:
Dear Meirs, I do believe, like you do, that some part really drops down but isn't it a reflection in this case? Anyway, how can I say it in Spanish? Maybe, I wonder, just referring to the action, like "la expulsión"? Thank you |
Discussion
You are certainly right! Here we have the picture that clearly shows that a part of the device drops down (slide 7) http://2punto0.com.mx/pesco/potencia/pdf/catalogos/AUTOLINK_...
Thank you so much!
