When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

I think it means "batch production", but I can't find any references to support it - and that includes the many entries in the glossary.

Alternatively "campaign production".

These are the entries I have in my personal glossary.

production in each campaign

I've been translating texts in this field recently and after some research I came to the conclusion that "lote" is batch (or lot, though I use batch) and "campaña" is campaign:

"CAMPAIGN PRODUCTION
Campaign production is the manufacture of lots of the same product in a consecutive fashion such that (i) no cleaning is performed between batches (typical of API manufacture, for example), (ii) sufficient cleaning is performed to ensure mechanical functionality [...]"
Validation of Pharmaceutical Processes, Third Edition
http://books.google.es/books?id=aKj2nJZdf8IC&pg=PA495&lpg=PA...

"Manufacturing on a campaign basis is typical in the bio-pharmaceuticals industry. [...] Frequently, all the batches processed in a campaign in which a contaminated batch is identified are suspect"
Pharmaceutical Production: An Engineering Guide
http://books.google.es/books?id=pp_53D5GejYC&pg=PA149&lpg=PA...

More relevant references in both these books. So a campaign or campaña is a production sequence consisting of a series of batches.

Rather than "production per campaign" I think it would be better to say "production in each campaign": so it's a question of monitoring the production in each campaign.

I don't think it refers to the production process but rather to what is produced.

agree philgoddard : It looks like a mistranslation, but it's not.

Quite. When I got my first pharmaceutical job I was very suspicious of "campaign" and tried various alternatives, but the evidence for it is good. Thanks, Phil
