Daryo, What I have given so far is what I have :) I have no more context than that. So yes, I suppose we all agree that this may refer to some video game to blast... apart. Thank you for the suggestions!
Daryo Apr 30, 2014:
none the wiser ... instructions for what? How to use the monitor? some video game?
groups of blocks? what kind of blocks? On-screen pictures of rocks? Blocks of text?
"Blast ...apart" with what? some virtual explosive?
It's difficult to get the "right nuance" with what what you have given so far ...
François Leplus (asker) Apr 29, 2014:
Il s'agit d'une consigne. La phrase dans son intégralité est :
"Blast the groups of blocks apart so they don't fill up your screen."
Tony M Apr 29, 2014:
@ Asker Context? You really need to tell us what the overall context of this document is, since 'blast' could have a number of literal and/or figurative meanings. It might be using TNT to blast blocks of rock... or then again, something altogther less brutal!

faites exploser [les groupes de rocher]

The semantics of "exploser" includes both "blast" and "apart", I don't see any difficulty here.

Depending on your overal style, you willl say "Faites exploser" or "Faire exploser".

PS: From the discussion (2 entries sofar) it sounds like a video game context, that's why I opted for the direct imperative. Can you confirm?
