Two different sentences of the paper for context:

Si se mide el espaciamento actual entre los diferentes trenes estructurales del Subandino Sur se observa un rango bien definido en el espaciamiento.

Las estructuras se habrían generado en secuencia normal, comenzando entre los 12,4 Ma y los 8,5 Ma, alcanzando el tren estructural de Suaruro-Mandiyuti-Iñiguazu-Bermejo-Sierra Baja de Oran entre los 8 Ma y los 6.7 Ma.

Is "structural trend" the appropriate term?

I'm not sure that I agree with "structural trend." Take a look at how it's used in this article. It seems to refer more to a structural unit like a mountain range or an anticline, etc.
