Zdecydowanie :)
Joanna Carroll Apr 2, 2014:
Niestety nie jest to gwarancją dobrej stylistyki :)

I think this text is written by a Polish author.
Joanna Carroll Apr 1, 2014:
I totally agree with what you and your sources are saying! the use of 'w wymiarze' in the original is a classic example of the same linguistic sin in Polish. I suspect it might be a bad translation from English. Having said that, I still believe it makes sense in my proposed translation.
To eliminate it entirely, one could alternatively say "...discriminate between inconsistent attitudes of parents' but then the meaning would be ever so slightly shifted. Of course 'regarding' which you suggest, is perfectly acceptable. Let the asker decide...
Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. Mar 31, 2014:
Thank you for providing these examples. Here is what prompted me to begin this discussion:

STYLE MANUAL FOR STUDENTS
This phrase is virtually meaningless, but we often hear it on the news and in bloated speeches. “In terms of” is really just a wordy and sloppy transition—usually an unoriginal disguise for a simple preposition, such as “in,” or a more elegant phrasing, such as “in relation to.” “In terms of the cost, it is high,” is easily revised to “Its cost is high.” Do not use “in terms of,” or do so trembling.

ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc
Originally this expression was used to explain precise quantifiable relationships: “We prefer to measure our football team’s success in terms of the number of fans attending rather than the number of games won.” But it has for a long time now been greatly overused in all kinds of vague ways, often clumsily.
Here are some awkward uses followed by recommended alternatives:
“We have to plan soon what to do in terms of Thanksgiving.” (for)
“What are we going to do in terms of paying these bills?” (about)

Decide for yourselves.
Joanna Carroll Mar 31, 2014:
in terms of is an idiom defined by free dictionary 1. As measured or indicated by; in units of: distances expressed in terms of kilometers as well as miles; cheap entertainment, but costly in terms of time wasted.
2. In relation to; with reference to: "facilities planned and programmed in terms of their interrelationships, instead of evolving haphazardly"

I think pt 2 is perfectly appropriate here.
Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. Mar 31, 2014:
The question here goes beyond proper translation-it concerns proper English. "in terms of," many believe is a meaningless, filler word - unnecessary verbiage. It is proper when "terms" are actually listed as in "in terms of a, b, and c,..." Even then it is awkward. It is best to rewrite the sentence IMHO.

in the dimension

Emotional and instrumental support is diversifying the attitude of parents in the dimension of inconsistency.

neutral Swift Translation : wg mnie błędne tłumaczenie: 1. present continuous, 2. in the dimension.
