: It would be reasonable to expect that all suites would come fully equipped; but the salient feature of THESE suites is that, however well-equipped they may be, they are only a 'suite' consisting of a single room (= not what is usually considered a suite)

Tony M
: I have to agree with Ambely here: 'pied-à-terre' describes more its function, but is not an accurate description of the form it takes, which is the key issue here.

façon « studio »
I think it is vital here to retain the nuance of '-style' — it means it is LIKE a studio, but it isn't actually one.
Now in FR, I see 'de type...' often used in a way that strongly implies it IS something — perhaps a silly example will show what I mean:
If we said 'véhicule de type VL', we would NOT be saying 'a car-like vehicle' — we would simple mean 'a vehicle that is a car'
But if we said 'rumsteak façon tournedos', what we mean is 'rump steak that is like a tournedos' — in fact, 'tournedos-style rumpsteak'!
Everything really hinges upon the fact that the '-style' is joined to the word preceding it by that little hyphen — which sadly we have to imagine here, as American writers tend to leave them out :-(

Discussion
En ayant été à Las Vegas.
'de type' in point of fact means it IS a 'studio'; but here, studio-style means it is only like a studio — so we need the alternate FR expression that will make this clear: « ...façon studio »
